Hockey Fundamentals & Skating Skills |

The perfect program for the aspiring hockey player with no hockey experience. Lots of fun and games balanced with hockey and skating instruction including puck skills, crossovers, forwards and backwards, stops and starts and game play. Great preparation for players signed up for there first hockey team. Full hockey equipment is required. Players must be able to skate from point A to point B without any help or falling down.
We are a "real" hockey school and not a figureskating or skating school teaching a hockey program. We train players starting at the "beginner" level through to the professional ranks. You will pay more to attend our school...but the results will be worth the investment! See our video for sample drills!

The perfect program for the aspiring boy or girl that wants to learn how to skate. Participants will be taught the correct way to use there skate edges, develop balance and stride technique. Lots of fun and games will be balanced into the program. Participants are required to wear a helmet with face mask. We also recommend a snow suit and gloves.

Our concept is to provide intense “circuit training” for shooting. Players will be separated into 3 small groups and using a buzzer system will rotate through 3 zones spending 18 minutes in each zone working on specific shooting exercises. Each zone will have a different shooting/scoring theme and will have one instructor teaching in each zone. In an average class a player will shoot in excess of 200 pucks! All training is done on “real ice” with the exception of Rapid Shot (Zone 3) which is on synthetic ice.

Future Stars Arena is the only facility/school to offer standardized hockey testing included in its training programs! Players on will be put through a set of drills that isolate specific hockey skills crucial in the game of hockey. Click here for list of tests. All tests will be accurately recorded using state of the art laser timing equipment accurate to 1/1000 of a second, radar guns, and specialty shooting machines. Test will measure a players speed, endurance, puck skills and shooting ability. Players will be ranked (based on accurate timing equipment) and can be compared to other team members, different teams, genders, position, age groups and levels. Players will be able to log into their on-line profile located on our website to check scores and to print reports and stats.
